I never totally understood the point of Opening Day. It would be different if the pictures were a little bit different. In 2002, the color was not even much removed from the Topps base set. I guess it is there to be a cheaper set geared toward kids. Alomar is definitely showing some age in this picture. Sitting on a stool in the dugout, his hairline receding, he is definitely a grizzled veteran at this point.
