Even after a bad season lost to injuries in 1991, many companies had not yet lost hope in Sandy Alomar Jr. Hence why he showed up in this set, predicting stars in the year 2000. They were not too far off with Alomar. His last All Star season was in 1998 and he was basically a backup catcher by the time 2000 came around. But he did play for several more seasons. The insert set missed the boat on a lot of players, so Alomar was definitely not the most egregious example.
