2001 saw Topps try out the Heritage set for the first time, using the 1952 Topps design. It was a hit idea and the short prints kept set collectors coming. Heritage has been one of Topps's most successful sets since that time. The Alomar card is nothing special. It is not even short-printed and it did not come out late enough to reflect his change in team.
